Meet the team behind The Caregiver Burden Spot! We call them “Spotters” because they’re here to help carry your family caregiving load. They’re much like a friend who spots you when your weight gets too heavy to bear.
Each one of them has been a caregiver somehow. They’re here to share stories, tips and encouragement to make your journey easier. They don’t have all the answers, but they understand what the burden means. They’re walking this road with you.
Les Jones
As a minister, Les has spent nearly 40 years visiting people where they live, work and thrive. He’s listened to their stories of caregiver stress and helped them find support. In his travels, he’s provided these services in 37 states and parts of the Caribbean. Every summer since 1979, he’s spoken at weekend seminars, with crowds varying from several hundred to as many as 60,000 attendees. With his blog posts, he hopes to create a comforting space for family caregivers. Look for helpful tips, honest advice, and trusted resources to help make your caregiving journey easier. He’s also co-writing a book about managing anxiety and stress. He also has a podcast in development. It’s about real-life caregiver challenges and ways to manage caregiving stress with dignity.

Bob Jones
Bob been an ordained minister for more than 50 years, helping people through life’s hard times — especially caregiving. Over the years, he’s seen more friends and loved ones become caregivers. The COVID-19 pandemic made those struggles even harder. He’s faced his own challenges too. He helped care for his dad when he had dementia. After Bob’s wife passed away suddenly, he raised their young son while also dealing with vision loss. These experiences helped him understand both sides of caregiving — giving care and needing it. Now, with his two brothers, he shares real-life stories and Bible-based wisdom to bring comfort, peace and strength to others. He started his ministry in Houston, Texas, then later volunteered with a religious publishing house in New York. He’s lectured at Trinity University and conducts a ministry in San Antonio, Texas. He enjoys Bible study, spending time with friends, and cheering on his favorite football and basketball teams.

Chris Jones
Chris started his caregiving journey by supporting his dad after his mother’s sudden death. His earlier work in patient care helped him shorten his learning curve. He now has several decades of ministry, public speaking and family counseling experience behind him. That background drives him to help other caregivers manage stress and anxiety. His blog posts offer tips and techniques for family caregivers to discover their own paths. He’s also creating a podcast on caregiver stress management and co-writing a self-help book with his two brothers. Besides blogging, Chris likes to write fiction, sing, and curate digital magazines on Flipboard.
